John Delaney is a proven public safety executive with over 25 years of experience in leading counterterrorism, emergency management, and violence prevention initiatives. Currently serving as the Program Manager for the Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management Team at the Arlington County Fire Department, they direct a pioneering program designed to mitigate violence through early identification and intervention. Previously, Delaney held the position of Captain II and Program Manager within the High Threat Response Program, and served as Chair of the Northern Virginia High Threat Committee, where they enhanced regional preparedness and response strategies. They have also contributed as the Chair of the InterAgency Board, promoting national emergency preparedness. Delaney holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from James Madison University and a Master of Arts in Homeland Security and Defense from the Naval Postgraduate School.
