John M. Hughes

John M. Hughes is a seasoned professional in the field of criminal justice, currently serving as a Founding Partner at Thurgood Advisors, LLC since July 2019, where needs assessments for jails and juvenile detention centers are conducted. Hughes also volunteers part-time with the Arlington Food Assistance Center, collecting donated produce. Prior experience includes serving as Assistant Director for Probation and Pretrial Services at the Administrative Office of the United States Courts, overseeing the federal pretrial services and probation system, and managing a significant probation office as Deputy Chief U.S. Probation Officer in Arizona. Additional roles included Branch Chief at the Administrative Office and United States Pretrial Services Officer in New York. Hughes holds a Master's degree in Public Administration from NYU and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Iona University.
