Riya S. currently serves as a Fall Fellow in the Council Office of Racial Equity at the Council of the District of Columbia, assisting with Racial Equity Impact Assessments for proposed legislation. Riya holds multiple leadership roles in the DC Student Consortium on Women, Peace and Security, including Vice President and Director of Student and Alumni Engagement, focusing on professional development and membership expansion. Academic involvement includes a position as a Writing Center Consultant at The George Washington University, where Riya has conducted numerous writing sessions with students. Previous experience encompasses internships in digital communications, research, and data analysis across various organizations, including Reproductive Freedom for All and Civic Nation. Riya is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Data Science and Political Science at The George Washington University, with a Public Policy focus, having completed an Advanced Studies Diploma at John Champe High School.
