Zsuzsanna Kovach has a strong background in the field of biotechnology and biomolecular sciences. Zsuzsanna started their career as a Research Scientist at Meduniwien in 2000, where they focused on investigating the role of Helicobacter pylori urease on dendritic cell maturation and immune response modification. Zsuzsanna also conducted genotyping and detection of Helicobacter pylori in a non-invasive way. In 2005, Kovach joined the School of Biotechnology and Biomolecular Sciences at UNSW as a Postdoctoral Fellow, conducting research on the correlation between Helicobacter spp. infections and liver cancer, as well as investigating Helicobacter pylori virulence factors. After their work at UNSW, they served as a Production Scientist at Cellabs Plt Lty from 2013 to 2016. Recently, Kovach has worked as a Senior Developer at AmpliPhi Biosciences since 2016 and as a Scientist at Armata Pharmaceuticals, Inc. since 2019.
Zsuzsanna Kovach obtained their Master's Degree in Molecular Biology and Immunology, with a specialization in German translation, from Eötvös Loránd University. Zsuzsanna attended this institution from 1995 to 2000. Following this, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree at Techniche Universitat Wien from 2000 to 2005. Their research focused on the immunomodulatory effect of Helicobacter pylori urease, a topic within the field of study of their Ph.D. program.
