Michael R. Moser

Michael Ryland Moser has extensive experience in the legal and financial industry. Michael Ryland began their career at Kegler Brown Hill & Ritter as an Associate from December 1994 to August 1996. Michael Ryland then joined Nationwide Financial, where they served as a Senior Counsel for a Fortune 100 financial services organization from 1996 to 2005. In this role, they provided legal counsel on various aspects such as product development, distribution, and operational issues, with a focus on financial products totaling over $26 billion. Following that, they joined Western & Southern Financial Group in January 2005, where they held the position of Vice President & Chief Compliance Officer until September 2013. Moser then moved on to the Armed Forces Benefit Association (AFBA) in September 2013, taking on the role of Senior Vice President (SVP), General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary. In 2024, they were promoted to the position of SVP, Chief Distribution & Legal Officer, and continued to serve as the Corporate Secretary.

Michael Ryland Moser has a BA in History Economics from Ohio Wesleyan University. Michael Ryland also obtained a JD from Ohio Northern University—Claude W. Pettit College of Law and an ALM in Religion/Comparative Ethics from Harvard Extension School. Additionally, they hold an MBA in Business Administration from the University of Chicago. Michael Ryland has various certifications, including the Associate in Regulation and Compliance (ARC) from The Institutes CPCU Society and the Nonprofit Leadership Certificate from Harvard Kennedy School. Michael Ryland is admitted to practice law in the State of Ohio and is also admitted in Virginia as a Corporate Counsel. Furthermore, they are admitted to practice before The United States Tax Courts and the United States Sixth Circuit. Michael Ryland is a member of the District of Columbia Bar.
