Luís Gonçalves has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Luís started their career in 1992 as a Systems Operator at PORTUGAL TELECOM. Luís then worked as a Software Developer at SQL SA and Neurónio SA from 1997 to 1999. Following that, they joined Imediata SA as a Software Developer, where they worked on various applications and web development projects from 1999 to 2006.

In 2006, Luís started working at Qimonda as a Software Developer, developing applications in Microsoft Visual C# and Microsoft Visual C++. During their time at Qimonda, they also worked as a Software Developer at New Boston Select, where they exclusively worked for Qimonda Portugal, focusing on application development in Microsoft Visual C# and Microsoft Visual C++.

In 2010, Luís joined Armis Group as a Senior Software Developer, working on software development projects based on Microsoft Technologies ASP.NET and SharePoint Services, as well as Java development with Spring and Wicket frameworks. Luís later transitioned to the role of Project Manager, where they managed software development projects, coordinated teams, provided technical leadership, and developed software using Java programming language. Luís then became the Head of Quality Assurance at Armis Group and eventually served as the Head of Software Engineering.

In 2019, Luís became a Co-Founder of Douro Toastmasters Club and took on various leadership roles within the club, including Sergeant at Arms and Secretary. Luís currently serves as President.

Luís Gonçalves obtained their Lic. degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Universidade do Minho, where they studied from 1992 to 1997. Prior to that, they attended Escola Sec. de Santa Maria Maior - Viana do Castelo from 1989 to 1992 to pursue their interest in computers, although they did not obtain a specific degree from this institution. In addition to their formal education, Luís has also obtained several certifications, including Project Management Professional (PMP®) from the Project Management Institute in August 2017, Certified ISTQB® CT Foundation Level (CTFL) from the ISTQB - International Software Testing Qualifications Board in November 2016, and TS: Microsoft SharePoint 2010, Application Development from Microsoft in December 2011.
