David Smentek

Director, Partnerships at Armored Things

David Smentek is the Director of Partnerships at Armored Things. David has over seven years of experience in the political field, having worked as a Policy Fellow, Legislative Director, and Intern - Political.

David Smentek graduated from college in 2010 with a degree in political science. David began their career as an intern with the National Republican Senatorial Committee during the 2010 midterm elections. After the election, they interned with the Hudson Institute before being hired as a Legislative Director for the U.S. House of Representatives in 2013.

As a Legislative Director, David was responsible for attending Congressional hearings and producing summary reports for partners of the firm in a variety of policy areas. David also aided partners in continuing business development projects and composed first drafts of daily news updates for firm clients. In 2019, David left the U.S. House of Representatives to join Armored Things as their Director of Partnerships.

David Smentek works with Beth Quenzel- Shirman - Controller, Chris Lord - Co-Founder & CTO, and Julie Johnson Roberts - Co-Founder & Chief Strategy Officer. David Smentek reports to Richard Scannell, CEO.
