Alex Payne

Alex Payne (이태연), MPA, currently serves as the Director of Advocacy for Higher Education at Arnold Ventures since November 2023. Prior experience includes a significant tenure at the U.S. Department of Education, where roles included Director of Higher Education and Oversight Strategy, who managed congressional liaisons for critical issues and led higher education initiatives as Interim Deputy Assistant Secretary. Previous positions also encompass roles as Legislative Director for Congresswoman Kim Schrier, M.D., and Education and Workforce Development Policy Advisor on the House Committee on Education and Labor, contributing to legislative agendas and policy responses. Alex Payne holds a B.S. in Policy Analysis and Management from Cornell University and an MPA from Syracuse University's Maxwell School, along with a Certificate in Financial Planning and Services from UC Berkeley Extension.
