Richard Steel

Richard Steel is a highly experienced medicinal chemist with a robust background in drug discovery and development. Currently serving as a Senior Medicinal Chemist at Arpeggio Biosciences, Richard has previously held key positions as Senior Scientist at Stablix, Inc., and Senior Scientist at Exelixis. Notable achievements include leading platform chemistry to identify chemical matter for deubiquitinases, advancing hit-to-lead compounds, and contributing to small molecule therapeutics targeting metabolic pathways. Richard's expertise encompasses managing large teams of chemists, designing high-throughput screens, and mentoring emerging scientists. Richard holds a Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry from the University of East Anglia and an MChem in Chemistry from the University of Sussex.
