Herb H. Hooper

Herb Hooper, Managing Partner at Ampersand Capital, has more than 25 years of experience working with healthcare companies – first as an entrepreneur at Ampersand portfolio company ACLARA Biosciences, and later as an Ampersand Partner. In addition to serving on the Arranta Bio board, his current and past board seats include Avista, Brammer Bio, GENEWIZ, Genoptix, Nexelis and Viracor-IBT Laboratories He also serves on the College of Chemistry Advisory Board for the University of California, Berkeley. Mr. Hooper holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from North Carolina State and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
