Iliana Perez-Rivera

Iliana Perez-Rivera has extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical and life sciences industries. Iliana is currently working at Arranta Bio as the Senior Director Head of GMP Operations, a position they have held since January 2022. Prior to this role, they served as the Senior Director of Drug Substance Manufacturing at Arranta Bio starting in February 2021. Iliana also worked at Denison Pharmaceuticals from April 2017 to August 2020 as the Director of Technical Operations and Bulk Manufacturing. Their responsibilities included coordinating all aspects of production for various products and leading a team of engineers.

Before joining Denison Pharmaceuticals, Iliana worked at Merrimack Pharmaceuticals as a Manufacturing Project Manager from July 2014 to March 2017. Iliana also gained experience at Lonza, where they held multiple positions. From April 2014 to July 2014, they were a Quality Assurance Project Manager, and from July 2013 to March 2014, they served as a Manufacturing Manager, overseeing various manufacturing processes.

In their earlier career, Iliana worked at Lonza as a Manufacturing Manager (Nights) from September 2012 to April 2013, where they oversaw night shift production and ensured compliance with cGMP and safety standards. Prior to this role, they served as a Manufacturing Supervisor from August 2009 to August 2012, overseeing GMP manufacturing operations and personnel within different suites.

Iliana's work experience also includes roles at Ortho-McNeil Pharmaceutical as a Manufacturing Supervisor from July 2006 to January 2009, where they focused on process optimization and productivity improvement, and at Schering as a Manufacturing Supervisor from November 2004 to June 2006, where they supervised API chemical plant operations and conducted investigations for plants under a Consent Decree.

Their early experience in the industry began at Merck, where they worked as a Technical Operations Specialist from June 2000 to December 2001, gaining experience in new pharmaceutical product start-ups and preparing various documents for FDA approval.

Iliana Perez-Rivera completed their education from 1993 to 2003 at the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez. During this time, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, specializing in Applied Science (B.A.Sc.).
