Kyle Barbary began their career in 2005 as a Graduate Student Researcher at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. Kyle then became a Postdoctoral Fellow at the same laboratory in 2012. In 2014, they moved to UC Berkeley, where they held the roles of Physics Project Scientist and Cosmology Data Science Fellow. In 2018, they joined The Climate Corporation as a Senior Quantitative Researcher, and in 2019 they joined Zymergen, Inc. as a Senior Data Scientist. In 2022, they became the Lead Data Scientist, Computer Vision at ArrePath. Throughout their career, Kyle has worked on projects related to data science, machine learning, and cosmology. Kyle has improved predictive models, rewrote code to make it more accurate and efficient, and spread knowledge within teams.
Kyle Barbary attended Harvey Mudd College from 1999 to 2003, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Physics. Kyle then attended the University of California, Berkeley from 2003 to 2011, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Physics.
