Constantinos Venetsanopoulos

CEO & Founder at Arrikto

Constantinos Venetsanopoulos is currently the CEO and Founder of Arrikto. Prior to this, they worked as the Principal Cloud Engineer at GRNET SA from September 2010 to November 2014. At GRNET SA, they helped scale the company's development team from 2 to 20 people. Constantinos was also responsible for managing smaller teams inside the development department, as well as overseeing product development, marketing, UX, and design for both the Synnefo project and the ~okeanos production service.

Constantinos was instrumental in building all development procedures and environments needed before deploying to production, including development flow, release cycles, build system, qa, demo site, migration/upgrade procedures, testing, and pre-production. Constantinos also introduced GRNET's second instance of the ~okeanos service: ~okeanos-global, the first public IaaS cloud service targeting the global academic community.

In addition to their engineering work, Constantinos also co-created and oversaw all content on the official Synnefo, ~okeanos and ~okeanos-global sites. Constantinos also co-organized all Google GanetiCon conferences worldwide.

During their time at GRNET SA, the ~okeanos service saw impressive growth, with over 500,000 VMs spawned, over 10,000 active VMs, over 20,000 active users, and over 150,000 Private Virtual Networks spawned. The service also amassed over 1PB of raw storage.

Before joining GRNET SA, Constantinos served as a Ribbon Bridge Engineer in the Hellenic Army from February 2009 to January 2010.

Constantinos Venetsanopoulos took a summer course in luxury footwear design at Polimoda and earned a diploma in electrical and computer engineering from the National Technical University of Athens.
