Upma Sharma, PhD, has a diverse work experience in the field of materials science and engineering. Upma started their career in 2006 at Lyra Therapeutics as a Senior Engineer and later served as a Manager of Materials Science & Engineering and Senior Manager of the same department. In 2012, Upma joined Arsenal Medical as the Director of Materials Science & Engineering. Upma then held the position of Senior Director of Research & Development at the same company from June 2015 to December 2016. In 2017, they returned to Lyra Therapeutics as the Vice President of Research & Development. Recently, in June 2018, Upma was appointed as the President & CEO of Arsenal Medical.

Upma Sharma, PhD has a strong educational background in engineering and bioengineering. Upma completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering at Purdue University. Following this, they pursued further studies and obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Chemical Engineering from Princeton University. Upma's academic achievements did not stop there, as they went on to complete a post-doctoral program in Bioengineering at Rice University.
