Hong Nan has a diverse work experience, starting with their current role as a Scientist I at ArsenalBio. Prior to joining ArsenalBio in 2022, Hong Nan worked at Zymergen as a Senior Research Associate from 2020 to 2022, and as a Research Associate III from 2018 to 2020. They began their research career as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the Dept. of Cell and Developmental Biology from 2009 to 2010.

Hong Nan attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology. After completing their undergraduate studies, they continued their education at the same university and obtained a Master's degree (MS) in Food Science and Human Nutrition.
