Sofia Hailu is currently a Communications and Development Coordinator at the Art Students League of Denver. Sofia has previously worked as an Art Curator at Stella's Coffee Haus and as an ArtLab Facilitator at PlatteForum. Sofia has experience as a Studio Assistant for contemporary artist Michael Gadlin and as an Art Department Manager at Azari Rug Gallery. Additionally, Sofia has worked as a Manager and Front Desk Receptionist at Easy Float, an Artist at Denver Digerati, an After School Assistant at St. Anne's Episcopal School, and a Barista at Louie Louie. Sofia holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Fine and Studio Arts from the University of Denver.
Art Students League of Denver
The Art Students League of Denver is an inclusive art community where professional artists guide individuals of all abilities to reach their highest potential. As a nonprofit and non-accredited arts organization, ASLD provides every student the opportunity to study with regionally and nationally recognized working artists in a wide selection of media. There is no set curriculum, so students are free to explore and delve into areas of particular interest. Our class structure allows students the freedom to take courses that fit their schedule through weekend workshops, multi-week workshops, and ongoing month-by-month courses. We also offer a variety of additional programming each session including exhibitions, artist lectures, and community events. In all studio classes, instructors have the capacity to facilitate individualized learning in a style that fits their personal philosophy and integrates demonstrations, study of master artists and critique.
