Kaziya Lee, Ph.D., is a Laboratory Applications Scientist at Artel since February 2018, providing technical expertise and support for various instruments and consumables. Prior to this role, Kaziya served as a Graduate Student Research Scientist at the University of California, Santa Barbara (2012-2017), independently conducting research on binge drinking's behavioral and neurobiological effects in mouse models, resulting in six first-author publications and numerous presentations. Kaziya also contributed to education as a Teaching Assistant, receiving an Excellence in Teaching Award, and mentored approximately 20 undergraduate research assistants, earning the Fiona and Michael Goodchild Graduate Mentoring Award. Previous roles include Associate Editor for Impulse: The Premier Undergraduate Neuroscience Journal, Lab Manager, and Clinical Research Intern at Maine Medical Center Research Institute. Kaziya holds a Ph.D. in Psychological & Brain Sciences and a Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience & Psychology from UC Santa Barbara and Middlebury College, respectively.
