Cleve Nelson has a diverse work experience in the wine industry. Cleve started their career at Constellation Brands in 2007, where they worked as a Territory Manager responsible for developing and supporting the Vincor portfolio. Cleve later became a Manager of Field Sales Execution, overseeing a team and focusing on implementing and executing the company's strategy in various trade channels.
In 2017, Cleve joined Arterra Wines Canada as a Key Account Manager, responsible for managing accounts such as BC Liquor Stores, BCLDB, and Yukon. Cleve then moved up to the role of Senior Manager of Strategic Accounts, where they were directly responsible for BC Liquor Stores, BCLDB, and Territories, and had topline responsibility for the provincial retail sales strategy. Cleve overachieved financial plans and played a key role in growing net sales and EBIT.
Finally, Cleve became the Director of Sales for BC at Arterra Wines Canada in 2023, where they continued their responsibilities for BC Liquor Stores, BCLDB, Territories, and the BC On-Premise trade channel. Cleve led the BC Inside Sales division, designed and executed strategic account plans, managed logistics, and collaborated with marketing teams to drive profitable volume and growth.
Throughout their career, Cleve has demonstrated their expertise in sales and account management, strategic planning, and leadership in the wine industry.
Cleve Nelson obtained a WSET Level 3 Advanced Certificate from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust in 2010-2011. Prior to that, they attended Capilano University from 2003 to 2005.
