John Boynton

John Boynton is the current President & CEO at Arterra Wines Canada. John has held this position since April 2021.

Boynton previously served as the President and CEO Torstar and Publisher of The Toronto Star from March 2017 to April 2021. Prior to that, they were the Chief Marketing Officer at Aimia Inc from September 2014 to March 2017.

Before joining Aimia Inc, Boynton spent 5 years at Rogers Communications Inc., where they served as the E.V.P. Marketing & Chief Marketing Officer from January 2009 to May 2014. During their time at Rogers, they were tasked with building the one Rogers brand and attributes, and they helped grow wireless revenues by 124% and cable revenues by 120%. John also launched a consolidated lifecyle management strategy, a new multi-functional innovation process, and a data strategy that included big data, social media, and infrastructure.

John Boynton's educational career includes obtaining an H.B.A. in marketing from Ivey Business School at Western University, as well as attending Upper Canada College.
