Jodi Nelson, Ph.D. has extensive experience in various roles within the philanthropic and global development sectors. Jodi currently serves as the Managing Director of Effective Philanthropy at the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation. Prior to this, they worked as a Consultant in Global Health and Development, providing expert advisory services.

Before their consultancy work, Dr. Nelson held the position of Senior Vice President of Policy & Practice at the International Rescue Committee. Here, they played a key role in shaping the organization's policies and practices.

Dr. Nelson's career also includes significant contributions at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, where they served as the Director of Strategy, Measurement & Evaluation. In this role, they developed processes for strategy development and review, as well as a results-based grant-making business process. Jodi also played a crucial role in defining the foundation's first Evaluation Policy. Additionally, they served as a Senior Monitor and Evaluation Adviser for Global Development at the foundation.

Earlier in their career, Dr. Nelson held the roles of Director of Research, Evaluation & Learning and Director of Institutional Relations at the International Rescue Committee.

Later, they pursued their doctoral studies in Political Science at Columbia University from 1993 to 1998, earning a PhD degree.
