Our research group, BCN-AIM, aims to develop and demonstrate the next-generation of data science and artificial intelligence solutions for personalised medicine applications, in several fields such as cardiology, neurology, psychiatry and oncology.

We are an international and multi-disciplinary team of 25 members and part of the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics at the University of Barcelona.

Several large-scale H2020 projects (euCanSHare, EarlyCause & EuCanImage) & Horizon Europe (RadioVal & DataTools4Heart) are coordinated by our lab director, Karim Lekadir. He is also WP leader of others H2020 & Horizon Europe projects (LongITools, Youth-GEMs, Happy Mums). Karim was recently granted an ERC for his project on Inclusive Artificial Intelligence for Accessible Medical Imaging Across Resource-Limited Settings (AIMIX). 

Karim Lekadir is also general co-chair for MICCAI2024. We are already looking forward to organising the 27th International Conference on Medical Image Computing and Computer Assisted Intervention in Marrakesh, Morocco, Africa.
