Joey Yip

Joey Yip is a dedicated researcher currently serving as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Artificial Intelligence Institute at the University of South Carolina since September 2021. Joey has accumulated extensive experience, including internships as a Data Science Research Intern at Outreach and serving as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of South Carolina. Joey's notable project involved the construction of the UMLS Metathesaurus utilizing knowledge-infused deep learning techniques. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Artificial Intelligence from the University of South Carolina, an MS in Computer Science from Wright State University, and a background in bioinformatics and biomedical science from the University of Malaya and Taylor's University.
