Scientist II, Process Development Analytics at Artisan Bio

Luca Orlando has a long and varied work experience in the field of science. Luca began their career in 2004 as a Master Student in Molecular Biotechnology at the University of Turin. In 2007, they began a PhD program in Biomedical Sciences and Oncology at the same university, and in 2009 they became a Marie Curie Early Stage Training Fellow at the University of Bath in the UK. From 2011 to 2013 they worked as a Research Assistant at the Molecular Genetic Laboratory at the University of Turin. From 2013 to 2022, they worked as a Research Associate at McMaster University's Bhatia Program in Experimental Therapeutics and Human Leukemias, and as a Lecturer. In 2022, they began their current role as Scientist II in Process Development Analytics at Artisan Bio.

Luca Orlando obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science - BASc in Molecular Biology from the Università degli Studi di Torino from 2001 to 2004. Luca then earned a Master of Science - MS in Biotechnology from the same university from 2004 to 2006. In 2009 and 2010, they were a Marie Curie EST fellow at the University of Bath, studying Regenerative Medicine and Pluripotent Stem Cells. Finally, they earned a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Biomedical sciences and Oncology, specializing in Genetics from the Università degli Studi di Torino from 2007 to 2011. In addition to their formal education, Luca Orlando has obtained several certifications, including a CELPIP G ENGLISH CERTIFICATION from CELPIP Test in March 2016, a Cambridge ESOL CAE (Certificate Advanced English) from the University of Cambridge in July 2010, a JHSC certificate from OSG in November 2022, and a First Aid certification from the Canadian Red Cross in May 2017.
