Hywel Sims currently serves as a Senior Advisor at Arts Consulting Group, having started in January 2023. Previously, Hywel was the Chief Executive Officer of Musica Viva Australia from May 2014 to December 2022, where efforts were focused on providing live music across schools in Australia and supporting artist development. Additionally, Hywel held the role of Interim Executive Director/Consultant at Common Ground from October 2012 to April 2014, successfully leading a merger to continue services for individuals facing homelessness and HIV in Los Angeles. Earlier experience includes serving as Principal of a Non Profit Consultant group, providing strategic and developmental services to various organizations, and as the Chief Executive Officer of the Gay Men's Chorus Of Los Angeles from December 2004 to December 2010, where initiatives included the Alive Music Project aimed at community anti-discrimination.
