Laura A. has extensive experience in arts education and program management, currently serving as the Manager of Art & Design at Arts Umbrella, where initiatives foster creativity among youth. Since January 2020, Laura A. has contributed to the organization's transformative relocation to a purpose-designed space, enhancing opportunities for young artists. Additionally, Laura A. has provided freelance services at RBC Dominion Securities, managed educational and fundraising programs at the Vancouver Maritime Museum, and coordinated significant fundraising efforts at Ballet BC. With a background in grants management and arts-based event coordination at ArtStarts in Schools, as well as administrative roles in various sectors, Laura A. holds a Bachelor of Arts in Art History and Art Education from The University of British Columbia and further education in management and child health and wellbeing.

Arts Umbrella is where young artists ages 2-22 cultivate their creativity in Art & Design, Dance, and Theatre, Music & Film. As a non-profit centre for arts education, we believe that art is powerful. Powerful enough to change childrens’ lives in incredible ways. When young people connect with the arts, they gain self-confidence, develop self-discipline, and discover creative expression—qualities they carry with them for life. Arts Umbrella has four locations in Vancouver and Surrey, as well as donor-funded programs at schools, community centres, neighbourhood houses, and healthcare facilities across Metro Vancouver. We reach more than 24,000 students every year, with over 80% served through bursaries, scholarships, and donor-funded programs.
