Dara Kane has extensive experience in education and the arts, serving as the Head Teacher at Central Synagogue May Family Nursery School since September 2014, where open-ended questioning and mindfulness practices are emphasized. As a Teaching Artist for ArtsWestchester since 2009, Dara has conducted artist residencies at various institutions. Additionally, Dara has worked as a Private Art Instructor since 2009, specializing in individualized curriculum for one-on-one and small group settings. Experience at Hoff-Barthelson Music School includes instructing elementary and middle school children in various art mediums over multiple summer programs. Former roles include Substitute Teacher at The Bronxville School and Art Instructor at the Bronxville After School Club. Dara holds a Master of Arts in Teaching from Manhattanville University and degrees from the Fashion Institute of Technology and Baruch College.
ArtsWestchester
Established in 1965 as the Council for the Arts in Westchester, we are New York State’s largest private, not-for-profit service organization, working to ensure the availability and accessibility of the arts for all of the county’s residents. In 1975, we were named by Westchester County government as the County’s designated arts council and we became one of several united arts funds in the country, providing grants and technical support to cultural organizations and artist residencies in the community.
