Akshaya Kannan

Akshaya Kannan is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in emerging markets and development, currently serving as a Senior Consultant at Arup since January 2019, where previous roles included International Development Consultant and Economist. Akshaya's expertise in sustainable development was further honed during a tenure as a Secretariat for the Real Play Coalition and as a Programme Specialist on secondment at the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure. An earlier position at the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe involved research focused on implementing the Sustainable Development Goals within the UNECE region. Prior to these roles, Akshaya excelled as Principal Architect and Managing Partner at ANDesign, managing projects in architecture and design, and gained initial experience as an Architectural Intern at Natraj & Venkat Architects. Akshaya holds a Master of Science in International Management from the University of Glasgow, a Master of Science in Design Innovation from The Glasgow School of Art, and a Bachelor of Architecture from Anna University.
