Mark Mesler is a Senior Counsel at Asbury Law Firm since January 2022, representing taxpayers before the IRS and mentoring associates in IRS procedural matters. Concurrently, Mark serves as a part-time instructor in the Master of Tax program at Georgia State University's Robinson College of Business. Previously, Mark held the position of Principal at EY from January 2000 to June 2021, leading the Tax Controversy practice in the Central US and assisting clients with IRS audits and appeals. Mark also contributed to the Internal Revenue Service Advisory Council from January 2013 to December 2015 as Chair of the Large Business & International sub-group, providing guidance on operational improvements and IRS policies. Earlier in Mark's career, from August 1987 to December 1999, Mark was a Senior Attorney with the IRS Chief Counsel, focusing on litigation in the US Tax Court and Bankruptcy Court. Mark holds a Doctor of Law (JD) in Taxation from Georgia State University and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Secondary Education from Baptist University of America.
