Paul Gay

Chief Operating Officer at ASC Pty Ltd

Paul is responsible for overseeing all aspects of ASC's Collins Class related work, including sustainment, Life-of-Type-Extension (LOTE), submariner training and future planning.

Paul has over 20 years’ experience in naval platform acquisition and sustainment, commencing his career during the ANZAC Frigate Program with Tenix Defence (later BAE Systems) in 2001 and advancing to become the Platform Systems Engineering Manager for Australia’s capital ships, the Landing Helicopter Docks (LHDs). During his tenure, Paul oversaw all aspects of construction, structural, hot outfit, equipment load outs, consolidation, cold outfit and set to works, also overseeing the systems engineering process for the LHD platform, working closely with Navantia.

Paul joined ASC in 2010 as General Manager – Air Warfare Destroyer Project and moved to the submarine business in 2014. Working with Enterprise partners, he led ASC’s implementation of the Coles Review recommendations, including successfully completing the first two year Full Cycle Docking - a cornerstone achievement for the company.
