Nick Wakefield

Nick Wakefield has a diverse work experience spanning over 25 years. Nick most recently served as the Chief People Officer at Ascend, where they implemented a people operations strategy and transformed HR systems. Prior to that, they were the Vice President of Human Resources, Driver Recruiting & Retention at USA Truck, Inc., where they established recruiting and retention strategies and developed a high-performing team. Nick also worked as the Director of Recruiting at Heartland Express and held various leadership roles at Interstate Distributor, including Vice President of Customer Service and Vice President of Recruiting and Retention. Additionally, they have experience in human resources and organizational development from their time at Target and Old Navy. Overall, Nick has a strong background in driving change, establishing talent management strategies, and creating a positive employee experience.

Nick Wakefield has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Industrial Recreation from Western Washington University. Nick also holds a Master of Arts degree in Organization Management (MAOM) from the University of Phoenix. In addition to their formal education, Nick has obtained several certifications related to human resources and recruitment.
