Mike Stella is an experienced executive in the biotechnology and therapeutic sectors, currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer and Director of Ascend Advanced Therapies since May 2023, where the focus is on developing high-quality gene therapies. Prior to this role, Mike held various positions at Cognate BioServices from 2007 to 2023, including Chief Business Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and Executive Vice President of Global Operations, overseeing the full development and manufacturing services of cell-based products. Earlier career experience includes serving as Director of Manufacturing Operations at Cell Genesys, Inc. and Regional Manager at Interstate Blood Bank, Inc. Mike Stella earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Administration from Western Illinois University, graduating in 1992.
