Mike Wegner

Mike Wegner currently serves as the Chief Operating and Financial Officer at Ascension, a position held since January 2024. Prior to this role, Mike Wegner spent a decade at MercyOne, where various leadership positions included System Executive Vice President/COO and Central Iowa Division President. Additional roles included Interim President for the Central Iowa Region and Senior Vice President for both Operations and Finance. Earlier in the career, Mike Wegner held senior financial positions at Via Christi Hospitals and Mercy Medical Center - Des Moines, as well as leadership roles at KPMG and Mayo Clinic. Mike Wegner earned an MBA from The University of Iowa Tippie College of Business and a B.A. in Accounting from Central College.
