Jamie Harms is an accomplished aviation professional with extensive experience in flight training and safety management. Currently serving as Chief Pilot and Chief Instructor at Ascent Flight Training since May 2018, Jamie previously held key roles within the Royal Air Force as Total Safety Manager and the Royal Navy as Senior Naval Officer for Fast Jet training. Previous consultancy positions at BAE Systems and Thales honed expertise in maritime aviation and air operations. Jamie's background also includes significant experience in organizational performance consultancy with Mission Excellence and strategic project leadership with the Aircraft Carrier Alliance. An academic foundation in psychology was established at The Open University, providing insight into human behavior and performance in high-stakes environments.

Ascent is the training design and delivery organisation appointed as the UK MOD’s Training Service Partner. Our sole purpose is to provide the Military Flying Training System for the UK’s Armed Forces. We provide this through a unique partnering arrangement with Royal Air Force No 22 (Training) Group and the UKMFTS Project Team from DE&S.
