John Byrne

John Byrne is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Ascent Global Partners, an executive recruitment firm based in Tokyo, registered and licensed by the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare since June 2012. Prior to this role, John served as an Executive Recruiter at New Millennium Group, specializing in Japanese cash equity and buy-side recruiting from July 2007 to April 2012, and as a Financial IT Recruitment Consultant at Japan Recruiting Associates, focusing on the financial technology sector from March 2006 to June 2007. John has also held positions in business development and recruitment management at EIRE Systems and as an IT Recruiting Consultant at CDS Consulting. The professional journey began with a foundation in financial recruitment at Optia Partners and Kohgakusha as an English Teacher, followed by a technical role as a UNIX Engineer at Sun Microsystems. John Byrne holds a BSc in Software Engineering from the Institute of Technology, Carlow, completed in 1999.
