Adam Clemens has had a diverse work experience, beginning in 2010 as a Research Assistant at Penn State University. In 2011, they were a Summer Undergraduate Research Fellow at The Ohio State University, where they worked in the lab of Dean Brueggemeier in the College of Pharmacy for 10 weeks, focusing on treatment and potential drug candidates for Estrogen Receptor Positive Breast Cancer. From 2013 to 2015, they were a Research Assistant at JBS Science. From 2015 to 2020, they were a PhD Candidate at Washington University in St. Louis, where they designed and implemented next-generation sequencing experiments and informatic analysis to identify novel neuron-specific mechanisms of transcription using Rett Syndrome as a disease model. Adam also completed a Science Communication Credential to enhance scientific communication. In 2020, they joined Ascidian Therapeutics as a Scientist I and then Scientist II.
Adam Clemens received their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biotechnology from Pennsylvania State University in 2013, after attending the Schreyer Honors College from 2011 to 2013. Adam then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Developmental Biology from Washington University in St. Louis, which they completed in 2020.
