Nathaniel Anderson

Nathaniel Anderson has a diverse work experience that spans various industries. Nathaniel is currently working as an Aero/Thermal Engineer at Aero Systems Engineering since September 2022. Prior to that, they served as an Associate Aero/Thermal Engineer at the same company from August 2021 to September 2022.

Before joining Aero Systems Engineering, Nathaniel worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Minnesota from August 2019 to July 2021. In this role, they contributed to the design of HyCUBE, a reentry vehicle, and conducted simulations to predict its survivability. Nathaniel also collaborated with other researchers and evaluated aerothermal measurement environments.

During the summer of 2020, Nathaniel worked as a Summer Intern at NASA Ames Research Center. Nathaniel was responsible for simulating reentry trajectories and environments for the HyCUBE vehicle and proposed design modifications to meet mission goals.

Prior to their research roles, Nathaniel worked as a Metrology Engineer at Measurement Technology Laboratories, LLC from January 2019 to August 2019. Nathaniel led aerosol sampling tests, analyzed samples using various measurement techniques, and performed statistical analysis on large data sets.

Nathaniel also has experience in teaching and customer service roles. Nathaniel served as a Teaching Assistant in the Math Department at Bethel University, grading assignments and assisting in teaching various math courses. Nathaniel also worked as an Admissions Ambassador, conducting campus tours and answering prospective students' questions. Additionally, they served as a Library Public Services Assistant.

Nathaniel gained engineering experience as an Intern at Measurement Technology Laboratories, LLC from April 2018 to August 2018. Nathaniel analyzed samples using x-ray fluorescence spectroscopy, calibrated instrumentation, and conducted statistical significance tests on data.

Furthermore, Nathaniel has worked in customer service roles at the Minnesota Zoo, where they managed registers, interacted with guests, and operated the Conservation Carousel. Nathaniel also worked as a Team Member at a Chick-fil-A Franchise.

Nathaniel Anderson completed their high school education at Lakeville North High School from 2011 to 2015, earning a High School Diploma. Nathaniel then pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Physics with a Mechanics emphasis at Bethel University from 2015 to 2018. Nathaniel continued their education at the University of Minnesota from 2019 to 2021, where they obtained a Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics.
