Christopher Whitten

Christopher Whitten is an experienced professional in the museum field, currently serving as the Assistant Registrar at the Asheville Art Museum since March 2017. In this role, Christopher has been involved in the accessioning of new and backlogged works using EmbARK and assisted with various exhibitions. Previous positions include Collections Manager Volunteer at Asheville Art Museum, Curatorial Assistant at Rural Heritage Museum, and Object Research Specialist at Center for Pioneer Life, showcasing a strong background in cataloging and object research. Additional experience includes roles at multiple museums, digital archiving, and customer service, complementing Christopher's academic background with a Master’s Degree in Museology from the University of Leicester and a Bachelor’s Degree in History from Gardner-Webb University.
