Pedro F. Escobar, MD, MHL has extensive work experience in the field of gynecologic oncology. Pedro F. is currently serving as an Associate Professor at Ponce Health Sciences University since 2014 and Universidad de Puerto Rico since 2021. Previously, they held the position of Chief Gynecologic Oncology at Ashford Prebyterian Community Hospital from 2013 to present. Pedro F. also served as the Director of Women's Services at San Jorge Children's Hospital from 2017 to 2018. In addition, they have held various roles at renowned institutions such as MD Anderson Cancer Center as an Adjunct Associate Professor from 2015 to 2017, Hospitales HIMA•San Pablo as the Director of Gynecologic Oncology from 2013 to 2017, and Cleveland Clinic in the Gynecologic Oncology department from 2002 to 2013.
Pedro F. Escobar, MD, MHL has an extensive education history. Pedro F. graduated from Florida Institute of Technology in 1994, with a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biochemistry. Later, in 1998, they obtained their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from Universidad de Puerto Rico.
Pedro F. then pursued further medical training, completing their Residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at Northwestern University - The Feinberg School of Medicine from 1999 to 2002. Afterward, they underwent specialized fellowship training at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine, where they completed a Fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology from 2002 to 2006. Additionally, they pursued a Fellowship SSO in Breast Surgery at the same institution from 2003 to 2004.
In 2016, Pedro attended Brown University School of Professional Studies, where they earned a Master of Healthcare Leadership (MHL) degree in 2018, focusing on Healthcare Leadership.
Pedro F. Escobar, MD, MHL holds several certifications. Pedro F. is a Board Certified Subspecialist in Gynecologic Oncology, obtained from the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) in April 2008. Furthermore, they are Board Certified in Gynecologic Oncology and Obstetrics and Gynecology, as certified by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS). Pedro F. is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Full Member of the Society of Gynecologic Oncology.

Ashford Hospital
El Hospital Presbiteriano se fundó en el 1904, cuando la Junta Nacional de Misiones de la Iglesia Presbiteriana de los Estados Unidos reconoció la necesidad de construir un hospital en el área de Santurce, Puerto Rico. La edificación inicial consistía de tres edificios de madera, en el mismo corazón de Condado y en el lugar que el hospital ocupa hoy día. Más tarde, en el 1946, la Junta Fundadora del Hospital traspasó el manejo de la institución a una Junta de Síndicos residentes en Puerto Rico y se le cambió el nombre al Ashford Presbyterian Community Hospital. Actualmente, el moderno hospital, conocido también como El Ashford, ha ido evolucionando para adaptarse a las necesidades de la comunidad a la cual sirve. Al mismo tiempo, constantemente incorpora lo mejor en tecnología y servicios de vanguardia en cuidados médicos para sus pacientes. Acreditado por la Comisión Conjunta de Acreditación de Organizaciones de Salud desde 1958, El Ashford cuenta actualmente con una facultad de aproximadamente 350 médicos, 700 empleados y con 199 camas para atender pacientes en prácticamente todas las especialidades y subespecialidades médicas.
