Basel Barqawi

Basel Barqawi is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in finance and business development, currently serving as the Head of Products and Business Development at Ashmore since September 2025. Prior to this, Basel held the position of Head of Private Banking KSA at Emirates NBD from September 2023 to September 2025. Basel's career includes significant roles at SHUAA Capital Saudi Arabia, where responsibilities included Acting Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer, as well as leading client and institutional relations focused on real estate investments. Previous experience includes roles at Sujood Establishment For Trading as CEO, Credit Suisse as a Private Banker, and Citi Private Bank as an Assistant Vice President. Basel began the professional journey as a Financial Analyst at MSL. Educational qualifications include a degree in Finance from UCF College of Business and a high school diploma from Choueifat International School.
