K Ram Kumar

Ram Kumar is a Post Graduate in Commerce & qualified lawyer with Fellow Membership at Institute of Cost Accountants of India and Institute of Company Secretaries of India. He has also attended Advance Management Program for Senior Management with IIM(A).

In his more than 3 decades of professional experience, he has wide exposure to all facets of Accounting and Financial Management in Power, Foreign Trade and automobile industries. During his stint in AL, he has handled major borrowing programs to fund major expansions, Qualified Institutional Placement (QIP), Forex markets, Cost management programs, foreign trade, implementation of GST, handling tax disputes etc. He also played a critical role in M&A, demergers and other restructuring activities of the Company and in establishment of JVs and subsidiaries in India and abroad. He was also involved in fund raising programs of Subsidiaries & Group companies as well.

He has also served as a Director in several group companies like Ashley Alteams Ltd, Ashley Investments Ltd, Ashley Holdings Ltd and Ashley Services Ltd and has been the Chairman of Audit Committee of these Companies as well.

Ram Kumar has been in various Committees of CII, Regional Committee of Central Excise Dept. and has also served as Chairman of SIAM’s Finance, Leasing & Insurance Group. He has contributed several articles in leading newspapers on subjects relating to economics, finance and economic laws and participated and also has been Speaker in several domestic & international Seminars organized by Professional Institutes and Industry bodies.

With deep interest in Carnatic Music, Mr Ram Kumar has also penned more than 200 Songs in Tamil language on various Temples of India and released several albums so far.
