Project Manager, Asset Integrity at Ashtead Technology

Kufre Bassey, P.Eng. has a diverse work experience in the engineering field. Kufre started their career as a Mechanical/Piping Project Engineer at Integral Consultants, where they were involved in the conceptual, FEED, and detail piping design of drilling facilities and utility/process lines. Kufre ensured the development of safe, economical, and operable designs in accordance with project guidelines and specifications.

Later, Kufre worked as a Subsea Project Research Engineer at Subsea 7. In this role, they developed revised parametric equations for the trajectories of dropped objects in the open ocean. Kufre simulated these equations using MATLAB/FLEXCOM/ORCAFLEX and validated them through tank experiments.

Kufre then gained experience as an ROV Pilot/Tech at the Fisheries and Marine Institute of Memorial University of Newfoundland. Kufre'sresponsibilities included pre and post-dive checks, inspection, debris collection, fault troubleshooting, and equipment maintenance. Kufre also received training in subsea pipeline/riser inspection, Xmas tree/BOP installations, and surveying.

Next, Kufre worked at ExxonMobil as a Subsea (IRM Project) Engineer/ROV Contractor. Kufre performed subsea inspections, maintenance, and repairs using WROVs. Kufre utilized specialized WROV tie-in tooling for light subsea asset installations/tie-ins.

After that, they joined Welaptega and later Ashtead Technology as a Project Manager in the Asset Integrity department. In these roles, they managed projects related to asset integrity, focusing on subsea construction, installations, maintenance, repairs, and inspections. Kufre ensured the proper functioning and integrity of subsea assets and equipment.

Throughout their career, Kufre has demonstrated a strong technical knowledge in areas such as hydraulic systems, fiber optic communication systems, and stress analysis using CAESAR II. Kufre has proven skills in project management, simulation, and research.
