Albert Park currently serves as the ADB Chief Economist and Director General of the Economic Research and Regional Cooperation Department at the Asian Development Bank since December 2021. Park is also the Head and Chair Professor in the Department of Economics at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, while being on leave; prior roles at this institution included Chair Professor of Social Science and Professor of Economics. Park's academic career includes positions as Professor and Reader in the Economy of China at the University of Oxford and Associate and Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Michigan. Additionally, Park was a Fulbright Research Scholar at Peking University, focusing on China's labor market development. Education includes a PhD in applied economics from Stanford University and an AB in economics from Harvard University.
