Asghar Ali Syed

Asghar Ali Syed is the Advisor and Head of the Procurement & Contracts Administration Unit at the Asian Development Bank. Asghar has over 25 years of experience in management, development, and administration.

Syed has worked extensively in the field of governance, capacity building, and strategic communication. Asghar was previously the Senior Key Expert for Governance, Capacity Building, and Strategic Communication for the European Union (EU) and Hulla & Co. Human Dynamics KG Inc. in Austria from November 2015 to September 2020. In this role, they were responsible for developing and disseminating the Communication Strategy and Action Plan 2015-2018 for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Community-Driven Local Development (CDLD) Programme. Asghar also conceived and developed the outreach mechanism and effective linkages with community based organisations (CBOs), government functionaries, and media organisations.

Syed has also worked on capacity building and networking of community groups, CBOs, government functionaries, and media persons. Asghar has achieved and conducted three exclusive programs on CDLD Policy implementation broadcasted by leading radio and TV channels of Pakistan.

Asghar Ali Syed has a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from the University of Peshawar in Management Sciences and a Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) in Project Management from Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad.
