Jong Woo Kang

Jong Woo Kang is an accomplished economist with extensive experience at the Asian Development Bank (ADB), where roles included Director and Acting Director from February 2023 and Principal Economist, Senior Advisor to the Managing Director General, Senior Economist in the Strategy and Policy Department, and Economist from December 2006 to July 2023. Prior to joining ADB, Jong Woo Kang served in various positions at the Ministry of Finance in Korea from April 1993 to December 2006, culminating in the role of Director. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Economics, specializing in International Economics from the University of Washington, a Master of Arts in Public Administration, and a Bachelor of Science in Economics, both from Seoul National University.
