Qingfeng Zhang is a seasoned expert in agriculture, food security, and environmental management, currently serving as Senior Director of the Agriculture, Food, Nature, and Rural Development Sector Office at the Asian Development Bank (ADB) since February 2005. In this role, Zhang has been instrumental in enhancing synergies within ADB through the implementation of a new operating model that consolidates various expertise areas. Previous roles include Chief of the Rural Development and Food Security Thematic Group and Director of the Agriculture, Natural Resources and Environment Division for East Asia, where Zhang focused on policy dialogue and programming in China and Mongolia. Prior experience includes serving as Director of the Persistent Organic Pollutant Convention Compliance Office at the State Environmental Protection Administration in China and as a Senior Environmental Specialist at The World Bank Group. Zhang's academic credentials include a PhD in Environmental Engineering from Tsinghua University and participation in an Executive Development Program at Harvard Business School.
