Mike Cain

Mike Cain 陈友彦 is a seasoned professional in public administration and legal compliance with extensive experience in freedom of information roles. Currently serving as Senior Manager, Freedom of Information at ASIC since November 2025, Mike previously held the position of Manager, Freedom of Information and Legal Compliance at the Victorian Department of Health from May 2023 to November 2025. Additional roles include Acting Director - Cabinet and Ministerial Services at the same department and Senior Advisor, Freedom of Information at the Department of Justice and Community Safety in Victoria. Mike's career began at Ombudsman Tasmania and included positions at the Department of Health and Human Services (Tasmania) and the Department of Premier and Cabinet (Tas), where portfolios ranged from Aboriginal Affairs to LGBTI issues. Academically, Mike holds a Master of Public and International Law from the University of Melbourne, a Graduate Certificate of Public Health from the University of Tasmania, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Mandarin from the University of New England.
