Brian McCarthy

Brian McCarthy, CFA has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over several industries and positions. Brian is currently serving as the Managing Director at ASL Capital Markets since January 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Credit Officer at City National Bank from November 2020 to January 2022, and as an Associate Director of Credit Analysis at Standard Chartered Bank from September 2019 to November 2020.

From 2012 to 2019, Brian held the position of Associate Director of Counterparty Credit Risk at The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC). During this time, they gained valuable experience in managing analysts and influencing member firms in the securities depository and central counterparties.

Brian's professional journey began in 1998 at Huntington National Bank, where they served in leadership roles and contributed to shaping the bank's treasury investments amidst financial crises. Prior to joining Huntington, they honed their credit skills as an account manager at Citicorp's Equipment Finance and Leasing division, and through Chase Manhattan Bank's formal credit training program in Rio de Janeiro. Additionally, they gained expertise in specialized financial solutions such as private equity, debtor-in-possession financing, and distressed debt during their time at McCarthy & Associates.

Throughout their career, Brian has developed and maintained numerous client relationships and demonstrated a strong aptitude for capital markets and credit analysis.

Brian McCarthy, CFA holds a BA degree in Economics from Rockhurst University. Brian also has obtained the CFA certification from the CFA Institute.
