Rita Alexander

Rita Alexander is a seasoned Sign Language Interpreter with extensive experience in various interpreting roles since 2009. Currently serving as a Sign Language Interpreter and Judicial Assistant at the U.S. Courts of Appeals since August 2023, Rita also holds positions at Purple Communications, Inc. and several other interpreting companies including ASL Services Inc., Graham Staffing Services, TCS Interpreting, Access Interpreting, and Maryland Interpreting Services. Rita has been committed to providing Disability Support Services at Montgomery College since July 2013 and works as a freelance interpreter for legal language services. Rita's academic background includes a Professional Studies degree in Sign Language Interpretation and Translation from Gallaudet University, and Bachelor’s degrees in Linguistics and Communication Sciences and Disorders from California State University, Northridge, along with an A.A. in American Sign Language/Deaf Culture from Berkeley City College.
