Freyja Handy

Freyja Handy has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Freyja currently serves as the General Counsel (Europe) at Official ASM Global, a prominent international venue and event management business. Prior to this role, Freyja was a Senior Legal Counsel at ASM Global, where they provided legal expertise and support in managing over 300 venues worldwide.

Additionally, Freyja has been an active Board Member at English Folk Expo since 2020, contributing to the support and promotion of the English folk, roots, and acoustic music sector through various projects and festivals.

Before joining ASM Global, Freyja worked as a Legal Counsel at SMG Europe, the world leader in venue management, operation, and marketing. Freyja played a key role in ensuring an exceptional guest experience across multiple high-profile venues in Europe.

With a strong foundation, Freyja began their career as a Solicitor in Dispute Resolution at Laytons, where they provided strategic advice and litigated complex legal issues. Freyja also served as a Trainee Solicitor during their time at the company.

Prior to their legal career, Freyja worked as a Customer Service Assistant at Horwich Farrelly, a Marketing Assistant at Bostock and Pollitt, and a Band 7 Assistant at the Valuation Office Agency.

Freyja Handy attended Ysgol David Hughes, Anglesey from 1992 to 1999, where they completed their A Levels in English Literature, Drama, French, and Social and Economic History. Afterward, they enrolled in the University of Bristol from 1999 to 2002, earning a 2:1 degree in Law. Freyja furthered their education at the College of Law from 2004 to 2005, completing their Legal Practice Course, also in Law.
