Alexa Barron

Robotics Project Director

Alexa Barron is a Junior pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University. Experience includes roles as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant, where assistance was provided in electrical engineering fundamentals, and as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at RETH Institute, where simulations of disruptions in deep space habitats were conducted. Alexa has held leadership positions within ASME, serving as Robotics Project Director and Robotics Systems Engineering Lead, responsible for project goals, resource management, and CAD design for robotic components. Current contributions as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the Multiscale Robotics Automation Lab involve modifying trailers for agricultural robots, while also developing in-space servicing technologies at the Manufacturing and Materials Research Laboratories funded by the United States Space Force. Past experience includes an internship as a Field Test Engineer at Cummins Inc., focusing on CNC Plasma Table operations and training.
